Danny Fuchs works with governments, entrepreneurs, communities, and philanthropies to close the digital divide.
Danny leads the broadband and digital equity practice HR&A, where he previously served as Managing Partner of the New York office. This work has included the widely-praised New York City Internet Master Plan, the Affordable Housing Broadband Initiative, which led to $100 million investment to close the digital divide in affordable housing, the National Broadband Resource Hub, and public-private partnerships that have connected tens of thousands of households to affordable, high-quality internet service.
In 2020, Danny co-founded the Broadband Equity Partnership, and now he and his team are developing or managing broadband and digital equity programs for eight states in the nation, from California to Rhode Island, New York to Texas, for local governments in eight of the most disconnected counties in the country, and for community-based nonprofits and civic organizations.
From 2014-2017, Danny served as the Founding Director of the Capital Planning Division of the New York City Department of City Planning, where he built the team that created and managed a $1 billion Neighborhood Development Fund, led the development of the Capital Planning Explorer, launched NYC Planning Labs, and developed new data products to reshape the City’s $100+ billion Ten-Year Capital Strategy. He also served as Co-Chair for Core Infrastructure and Services for OneNYC, New York City’s strategic plan.
For more than fifteen years, Danny has been a creative strategist, team-builder, and trusted advisor to municipal governments, infrastructure authorities, tech companies, real estate developers, and stewards of public parks. He holds a degree in architecture and urban studies from Yale University, and serves on the boards of Yale/City and the Citizens Housing and Planning Council.
